Conventions Pt 2: The Art Show
August 2006; Water
Heraldry, Pt 4: Charges
August 2006; Waterby Ellen Million
Welcome to August!
I picked 'water' for our August theme for several reasons. Our local state fair is always in August - and it almost always rains; rain and August go cheek to cheek in my mind. I was also terribly hopeful that I would be able to triumphantly announce that I finally had running water. Back in February it sure seemed like a reasonable goal. Alas, I do not have this running water miracle, yet - the summer got away from us as it seems to often do! I do have windowsills and a bathroom door, though, so I'm not complaining. Water will come eventually.
We've got a juicy issue of EMG-Zine for you this month! Annie turns 2-D into 3-D with 1-point perspective, Ursula tells us about convention art shows, Marina finishes up our series on Heraldry, Janet gives us an eye-opening look at warning labels, R. Bail gives us the scoop on backups, and I take you painting in the rain - plus a wonderful selection of watery fiction, poetry, a gallery of artwork, and more!
We are looking for artwork and fiction for October at this time - our theme is 'birthdays!' Please see the guidelines for more details!
As always, a huge thank you to everyone who has supported EMG-Zine with their submissions, their subscriptions, their comments, or just their enjoyment. Our opening graphic is by Christine Griffin, and our darling accent graphic is from a piece by Annie Rodrigue.
