I love August! For one, I get to do my favorite show of the year - the Tanana Valley State Fair, August 3-11. It will mean I'm a little scarce online during that time; sorry for any delays! For two, our theme this month is "cats", which is the perfect excuse to post a gratuitous photograph of my own mischievous feline, Velcro:

It is with a very heavy heart that EMG-zine says goodbye to Megan this month - she has been a wonderful head editor for the 'zine, and a tremendous help to me personally. We wouldn't be here without her. (Or if we were, our spelling would at the least be much worse . . .) We'll have some new staff and new policies to talk about next issue. (They're all good, trust me!)

There is an awesome new addition at Portrait Adoption - a wishlist! If you've wanted a good way to keep track of that ideal portrait, but you just can't adopt it now, this is the perfect solution for keeping tabs on it! It's easy to add, and easy to remove portraits, and you can find them again just by logging into your account.

Fantastic Portfolios is getting it's finishing touches and comes out of beta testing on September 1st. What this really means is that September 1st is the last chance you'll have to get the eternal as in "forever!" membership. (At least, for now - we reserve the right to offer it again in the distant future. But don't count on it!)

Most of what I've been working so feverishly on in July isn't quite ready to be released (due to shipping transits, or very, very limited stock), but here are a few teasers for you!
