September 2007 -- Piratesby Jennifer Broschinsky
Avast, me hearties! This is your new editor-in-chief welcoming you to the September issue of EMG Zine, where we explore the nefarious, black-hearted, and villainous denizens of every seaman's nightmares!
Our romanticized idea of pirates - laced with the notorious pirates of literature and film, the likes of Captains Blackbeard, Hook, and Jack and their peculiar and capricious notions of honor - may bear little resemblance to the grim reality, but we'll take a bit of pirate fantasy over real scurvy any day.
This month, Janet raids the kitchen for her studio, Ursula is kidnapped by pirates (okay, not really), Marina gives part two on the mythos of cats, and Annie offers tips on caring for our art. There is also plenty of piracy goodness in this month's fiction. Enjoy!
Also, if you would like to submit work for our November issue, the theme is Air. Be sure to check out the guidelines before you submit.
