Holding Onto Air
by Kira Pelowitz
Pay attention to the Earth as it shifts beneath your feet.
Inhale. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale.
Taste the air, bittersweet.
Canít think, canít hold the air.
Inspire. Think. Shift.
Try a different approach.
How do you hold the air?
How do you hold a breath in your hands?
How do you touch something thatís borderline intangible?
How do you write about the unseen?
Breathe. Again. Again. Breathe.
One more approach.
There has to be a way.
To hold the air within your hands.
Like a skittish grasshopper.
There is a way.
You have to put that grasshopper back.
Holding onto the unseen.
Holding onto air.
