  • March 2008 -- Crystals
    by Jennifer Broschinsky

Welcome to the March issue of EMG-Zine! Our theme for the month is Crystals!

Admired for their beauty (not to mention the fascinating scientific processes by which they are created), crystals adorn us in jewelry and bring a sense of wonder to our surroundings. They have long been connected with magic and are admired in their many forms – from simple quartz to lustrous diamond.

This month, Janet talks about creating new art from old things, Melissa shows us what to look for in a reference photo, Giovanna features the life and works of Richard M. Powers, and Ursula Vernon talks about tattoos. This month's features include a tutorial on creating a photo manipulation, and ways to increase our business efficiency. We also have crystal-themed poetry, fiction and comics!

you would like to submit work for our May issue, the theme is Trains. Be sure to check the guidelines before you submit.

Jennifer Broschinsky has, since her youth, filled her sketchbooks with things feathered and furred, winged and scaled. She is currently working on a sequential art story called Songseeker, and is working on raising three sons.
