News for August
August 2008 -- Musesby Jennifer Broschinsky
Welcome to the August issue of EMG-Zine, where we pay tribute to our Muses!
In Greek mythology, the Muses embodied and influenced the creative process in all forms of the arts... and that concept still influences creative thought today. Every artist and writer finds inspiration somewhere, but the forms our muses take vary from person to person, even from day to day. When we look for our muses, what do we find? Or do they sometimes find us, before we're ready for them?
In this issue, Melissa Acker demonstrates inking technique, we have the final installment of Marina's history of the Tarot, Giovanna describes the life and art of illustrator Gustave Dor, and Ursula bemoans the editing process. Elizabeth Barrette brings us the third in a series on cyberfunded creativity. We also have muse-themed art, fiction and comics! Enjoy!
If you would like to submit work for our October issue, the theme is "Leaves". Be sure to read the guidelines before submitting.
