Faery in Ink
Interview with Katerina Koukiotis
How To Become a Children's Book Author
October 2009 -- Faery Courtby Jennifer Broschinsky
Welcome to the October 2009 issue of EMG-Zine! Wend your way through the enchanted forest to join us in the Faery Court, our theme for this month.
Long the inspiration for epic poetry and folklore, myths and folktales about the Faery Court -- a place you could get lost finding, or in finding it, lose yourself eternally -- have shaped modern fantasy, from Tolkien's Elves in Lothlorien to many a work by today's fantasy writers. Beautiful and devious, mysterious and deadly... nothing in the Faery Court is what it seems, and all who go there come back changed forever.
In this month's issue, Ursula talks about becoming a children's book author; Constanza interviews artist Katerina Koukiotis, Missy walks us through a fairy in ink, Nicole talks about "time boxing", a form of time management, and Ellen introduces us to collaborative projects. We also have Faery-Court-themed poetry, art and comics. Enjoy!
If you would like to submit work for our December issue, the theme is Jungle. Please read the guidelines before submitting.
