  • November 2009 -- Moon
    by Jennifer Broschinsky

Welcome to the November 2009 issue of EMG-Zine, where we celebrate the wonder of the Moon.

Ever-watching, the Moon has observed from its orbit all the doings of the human race. From ancient times, we have considered the Moon a symbol of cycles. It governs the tides and bedazzles us with its phases. It gives illumination and mystery to the night -- and has been part of folklore for cultures worldwide. So join us as we recognize that greatest of the lights in the night sky, the Moon.

In this month's issue, Ursula talks about the Uncanny Valley; Constanza interviews artist Jasmine Becket-Griffith, Missy walks us through a dragon in mixed media, and Nicole talks about ordinary art supply alternatives. We also have Moon-themed poetry, art and comics. Enjoy!

If you would like to submit work for our January issue, the theme is Time. Please read the guidelines before submitting.

Jennifer Broschinsky has, since her youth, filled her sketchbooks with things feathered and furred, winged and scaled. She is currently working on a sequential art story called Songseeker, and is working on raising three sons.
