  • February 2010 -- Tiger
    by Jennifer Broschinsky

Xīn nin kui l! The Year of the Tiger starts on February 14 this year, and so we welcome you to the February issue of EMG-Zine, where our theme is the Tiger!

In the Chinese zodiac, the Tiger is a sign of power and unpredictability -- daring and impulsive, but also sincere and generous. Though quick-tempered and impatient, the Tiger can also be affectionate. And so we reflect this month on the Tiger, and on our year ahead!

In this month's issue, Ursula envies game designers; Constanza interviews artist Jessica Douglas, Missy walks us through a watercolor tiger; and Annie Rodrigue answers a question about working with color. In a guest feature, Amy Edwards discusses keeping freelance clients. We also have Tiger-themed art. Enjoy!

If you would like to submit work for our April issue, the theme is Doorways. Please read the guidelines before submitting.

Jennifer Broschinsky has, since her youth, filled her sketchbooks with things feathered and furred, winged and scaled. She is currently working on a sequential art story called Songseeker, and is working on raising three sons.
