  • May 2010 -- Dragons
    by Jennifer Broschinsky

Welcome to the May issue of EMG-Zine, where our theme is Dragons!

The quintessential creature of fantasy, the Dragon is part of the mythology of many cultures -- whether creatures of ferocity and fear, or of wisdom and benevolence. Brutal or wise, bringers of devastation or fortune, Dragons are the center of many fantasy tales and art. Come celebrate them with us!

In this month's issue, Annie Rodrigue discusses how to acquire a style; Constanza interviews artist Joseph Corsentino; Missy walks us through a Shell Dragon colored pencil piece, and Ursula extols the benefits of having an agent. We have the third and final installment of M.C.A. Hogarth's excellent series on the many roles a freelance creative has to take on to be successful. We also have dragon-themed fiction, poetry and art. Enjoy!

If you would like to submit work for our July issue, the theme is Familiars. Please read the guidelines before submitting.

Jennifer Broschinsky has, since her youth, filled her sketchbooks with things feathered and furred, winged and scaled. She is currently working on a sequential art story called Songseeker, and is working on raising three sons.
