  • June 2010 -- Earth
    by Jennifer Broschinsky

Welcome to the June issue of EMG-Zine, where we celebrate the Earth!

Long a part of mythology and folklore of cultures worldwide, the Earth is a symbol of many things -- nurturing, motherhood, the ultimate giver of life and origin of humanity. Earth is also one of the four classical elements, often associated with solidity, stability and practicality. Join us as we celebrate the Earth!

In this month's issue, Annie Rodrigue walks us through the steps to use Photoshop to remove pencil lines from artwork; Constanza interviews artist Patrick McEvoy; Missy walks us through an Earth-themed unicorn watercolor piece, and Ursula offers her perspective on the hot topic of fan fiction. We also have Earth-themed poetry and art. Enjoy!

If you would like to submit work for our August issue, the theme is Roses. Please read the guidelines before submitting.

Jennifer Broschinsky has, since her youth, filled her sketchbooks with things feathered and furred, winged and scaled. She is currently working on a sequential art story called Songseeker, and is working on raising three sons.
